SECCCA's 2018 Annual Leaders Breakfast

20 Apr 2018 7:15am

The South East Council’s Climate Change Alliance, in partnership with the City of Greater Dandenong's South East Business Networks, is holding the 2018 Annual Leader's Breakfast on Friday 20 April.

Climate change in Victoria is bringing warmer average temperatures, more frequent and severe heatwaves, a greater number of very high fire danger days, reduced average and more variable rainfall, increased incidence and extent of drought, reduced snow cover, and sea level rise.

Local government and business have key roles to play in supporting our communities to develop greater resilience to the impacts of climate change.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Andrea Hinwood, Victoria’s inaugural Chief Environmental Scientist, as key note speaker. Dr Hinwood provides advice to EPA’s leadership team and other senior decision makers, including the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change.

Dr Hinwood will share insights into how our communities’ health and wellbeing is affected by climate change and how the Environment Protection Authority is helping local government and business respond to this challenge.

Dr Graeme Pearman, renowned climate scientist, Ward Petherbridge, Managing Director and founder of Smart Recycling and Jacques Espers from Hilton Manufacturing, will present a case study on a proposed industrial solar precinct for South East Melbourne.

 RSVP by 12 April 2018
