Business Entry Point

A Federal / State Government initiative that provides information on topics such as business assistance, common business questions, starting a new business, operating a business, employing people, exporting and importing, taxation, superannuation, OH&S, customs, and workplace relations. The site offers the opportunity to register your company, for sales tax, as a group employer, as an eligible paying authority under PPS and apply for a tax file number.

Export Finance and Insurance Corporation

Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC) can assist clients with specialist economic and commercial knowledge of more than 225 countries, credit checking of overseas buyers, identifying export contract issues, minimising payment delays by working with Australian companies and their overseas buyers, and providing advice on effective credit management policies and practices. EFIC is an initiative of the Commonwealth Government.

ICN promotes Victorian and Australian industry through import replacement and opportunities for participation in overseas projects. It performs a technical role providing purchasers with a free sourcing service to identify Australian manufacturers capable of supplying those items that would otherwise be imported.

The Small Business Counselling Service

A non-profit group of retired and semi-retired business executives available to provide low cost business expertise with existing small to medium enterprises. Advice ranges from finance and marketing, through to management and export.
 

VECCI

The Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) provides a range of advisory, consulting and training services to businesses of all sizes. Rates are lower for members, and information includes employee relations and human resource management, international trade, information and training, networking and economic analysis.
 

VicIT

A State Government funded website that contains a database of companies able to provide advice on elctronic commerce.
 

Victorian Business Centre, Vermont

Victorian Business Centres provide an easy means of accessing government departments, licensing information & other support services to help you run or establish a business.
