Kim Rawlings - Manager City Futures

 Kim joined Knox in 2008 as the Manager of Strategic and Economic Development. Kim has a breadth of experience and has held leadership roles in Government for the past 18 years across a number of portfolios, including economic development, business development, strategic planning, urban design, infrastructure planning, place management, social planning, Regional and Urban planning and resource management and sustainability.

Prior to joining Knox, Kim worked for 10 years in a high growth local government in South East Queensland and prior to that within State Government in Victoria (Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Mines and Energy).

Kim is committed to great city planning and management. This means having foresight, vision, persistence and courage to drive change and make a positive difference within and for the community.

 

 

 

Peter Chaffey - Co ordinator Economic Development

Peter joined the Knox Economic Development Team in 2008 and brings extensive knowledge and experience having worked in the field for over 25 years at state, regional and local levels.

He is an Australian Accredited Economic Developer (AAEcD) with Economic Development Australia and currently serves as Chair of the Melbourne East Regional Development Australia Committee, established by the Australian and Victorian Governments.

Peter's role in the Knox Team is to understand and interpret drivers of economic change; set strategic direction, lead and develop the Team and advise/represent Council on economic development matters. His key interests lies in understanding the growth aspirations of local businesses and in assisting collaboration between them, where appropriate.


In the past Peter has worked as Economic Development Executive at Melbourne City Council, as Manager Strategy & Economic Development at Whitehorse City Council, in private consulting practice and as Founding Executive Director at the Western Port Development Council.
 

Helen Ruddell - Senior Project Manager Economic Development

Helen joined the Knox Economic Development team in August 2011 after seven years in Economic Development with Yarra City Council. During her time at Yarra, Helen developed and commenced implementation of Yarra City Council's five-year Economic Development Strategy (2009-13), to meet its vision of a prosperous and unique local economy. 

Prior to joining local government Helen worked in the private sector most particularly in financial services and manufacturing.

  • developed and commenced implementation of a five-year Economic Development Strategy (2009-13), to meet Council's vision of a prosperous and unique local economy;
  • introduced the BRAINfoodforBusiness training and events program;
  • introduced the online business directory, regular e-bulletins;
  • developed and introduced annual business survey;
  • engaged at a regional level in the delivery of economic development initiatives such as the annual Northern Business Achievement Awards
Kate Harris - Project Manager Economic Development

Kate has been a member of the Economic Development team for the past six years, in that time Kate has developed an extensive education program to support local business.

Prior to joining local government Kate held senior positions with local manufacturing companies within Knox and brings a wealth hands on business experience and understanding to the role.

Kate's focus is to further develop the education program and to assist local business through government red tape.

Kate is also a local resident and a supporter of live local work local.
